STRAHALYBN
TOWN HALL
REDEVELOPMENT
The Strathalbyn Town Hall had great bones and a long history, but it was tired and facing real structural challenges. We worked carefully within the heritage fabric to stabilise and strengthen the building, including major structural upgrades to the roof and gallery seating with significant truss reworking.
Inside, the hall was completely reimagined for contemporary use. A new stage and thrust stage bring performances closer to the audience, the former mezzanine became a true upper gallery, and state of the art AV transformed how the space functions. At the front, old storage areas made way for a new foyer, offices and box office that properly welcome the community. Backstage, new accessible amenities, upgraded green rooms and full air conditioning support modern performers and events. The façade was restored and repainted, giving the building its civic presence back.
The result is a revitalised town hall that is structurally sound, technically capable and ready for the future, while still holding onto the character and story that make it such an important part of Strathalbyn.
